Polished Fossilized Sea Sponge (Texas)
These are the remains of ancient porifera, marine filter feeders that lived in the shallow Cretaceous seas covering what is now Texas, roughly 70–100 million years ago. The silica replacement process has preserved the sponge's intricate cellular lattice structure in extraordinary detail, and polishing reveals a geometric patterning unlike any other fossil stone. Each piece is a cross-section of deep time, and no two show the same internal structure.

A note about product images
Every piece in our collection is photographed with care and under varied natural and studio lighting to reflect its unique character. While we strive to present colours and details as accurately as possible, variations may occur. Differences in monitors, devices, and individual screen settings can alter how colours and finishes appear online. Accordingly, the product you receive may not be an exact match to what is viewed on your screen.
By purchasing from Lost Ancients Jewelry, you acknowledge and accept that minor variations in colour, tone, and appearance are a natural part of both the digital display process and the timeless uniqueness of each stone, gem, and handcrafted piece.
